DENTISTRY
Manto Oriana Manoli is the only equine veterinarian in Greece specializing in equine dentistry.

Equines’ teeth continuously erupt throughout their lives, so changes in dental wear can easily lead to problems. As in human dentistry, the role of dental care should be preventive. For this reason, preventive dental examinations for horses are important in identifying problems that are not easilydetected, or often not noticeable, by humans.

We provide comprehensive dental services from routine check-ups and treatment (such as appropriate odontoplasty and debridement/calculus removal), to more specialized techniques such as taking radiographs, surgical procedures, dental restorations, endodontic treatments, extractions, as well as addressing periodontal disease and sinusitis.

Our equipment
By combining new and modern high-quality equipment with appropriate therapeutic methods, we ensure the safe treatment of dental conditions. Our power tools feature water-cooling system to cool the surface of teeth and prevent thermal damage to the dental pulp.

Studies have shown that even a 5.5 °C increase in tooth temperature can lead to inflammation and/or necrosis of the dental pulp, which is the living part of the tooth.

For this reason, the use of a water-cooling system during dental filing is considered essential!

The use of inappropriate tools and inappropriate techniques, such as excessive premolar/molar filing, can cause permanent damage to the teeth.

Hygiene – Cleanliness
Hygiene and cleanliness require special attention. All of our tools are cleaned and placed in an antiseptic solution before being used on each patient.
